New Mazda 6 redesiged at Paris Auto Show 2012

If you like Mazda brand, you will be impressed with new Mazda 6. Sporting a swoopy new shape and improved levels of quality and refinement,

Following the unveiling of the saloon version at the recent Moscow Motor Show, Mazda has saved the estate for Paris. Also being showcased is the company’s 2.2-litre diesel engine – already seen in the CX-5 crossover – which is capable of 72.4mpg combined with CO2 emissions of 104g/km

Mazda 6 goes on sale in both saloon and estate guises towards the end of the year. Price and specification details have yet to be confirmed, but we’d wager the 6 to be priced competitively – albeit slightly more expensive than the outgoing model – starting at around £20,000 ($25000)

There’s also a new 2.5-litre Skyactiv-G petrol engine pumping out 192hp. We mentioned the lower-powered 150hp 2.2 diesel will be the most efficient, but the new enlarged petrol engine will be the fastest, completing 0-62mph in 7.9 seconds. Interestingly, the more powerful 175hp 2.2 diesel will match that, yet return 18mpg more and emit 29g/km of CO2 less, with 62.8mpg and 119g/km the target figures
