Mazda5 for 2011 is coming on a market fitted with a newly-developed 2.0-litre DISI1 gas engine equipped with i-stop, and a 6-speed manual transmission with gear ratios specific for this version. The 2010 Buick LaCrosse not only offers a luxurious and comfortable interior, but it does so with exquisite styling as well. In terms of size and space, the new Buick sedan is probably no different than past models, but it’s the cabin materials and the remarkable fit and finish that won us over. Most of the surfaces are covered in soft touch materials with a stylish layout that includes faux wood accents on the steering wheel, shift lever, center stack and surrounding the instrument panel and door panels. High-tech features are also available including GM’s large, touch-screen display, a panoramic sunroof and heads-up display. As is expected from any luxury sedan, the 2010 Buick LaCrosse offers plenty of rear-seat legroom as well as decent trunk space for multiple golf bags.

The engine choices available in the Buick LaCrosse were also helpful in determining this year’s pick. Powering the 2010 Buick LaCrosse, the CX and CXL models use a 255-horsepower 3.0-liter direct-injected V-6, while the top-of-the-line CXS gets a 280-horsepower 3.6-liter direct-injected V-6. These engines offer decent fuel economy of up to 17 miles per gallon in the city and 27 mpg on the highway, but the Buick LaCrosse will be adding another engine option for even better fuel mileage. At some point later this year, Buick will offer the base LaCrosse CX standard with a 2.4-liter Ecotec inline-4 engine that gets an estimated 30 miles per gallon on the highway – an improvement of 4 mpg compared to the current base V-6. All models come standard with a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive, but the CXS offers all-wheel drive as an option

The next Ford Focus will be a 2012 model year vehicle that will underpin as many as 10 new c-segment cars by Ford around the world

The next Ford Focus will go on sale starting in early 2011 – a few months later than many had expected – but will begin production in North America and Europe in late 2010. The design language used on the next Focus looks to be a blend of the current European Ford Focus and the Ford Fiesta’s kinetic design language. Many common design cues can be found between the next Focus and the Fiesta including the general front flow and headlamp shape, the side profile and sheet metal styling, fog lamps and especially the window trim and shapes
Ford plans to raise the benchmark for the c-segment with its next Focus by delivering what it believes to be class-leading driving quality which is intended to blend steering precision and road feedback with refinement and control. The first Ford Focus, launched in 1998, received acclaim for its road handling characteristics – as did the new Ford Fiesta – and Ford hopes to continue the tradition of driver-friendly small cars with its next debut.

Ford has updated the multi-link control blade rear suspension and isolated the front and rear subframes in an effort to improve handling and ride quality. Ford says its European driving dynamics specialists paid special attention to enhancing the vehicle’s stability and agility with the introduction of an advanced Dynamic Cornering Control system – designed to use torque vectoring techniques to distribute power in a way that can reduce understeer, improve traction and provide better turn-in.
Ford plans to launch the next Focus in the U.S. using a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that features features a combination of Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing (Ti-VCT) and direct injection. Ford says these changes increase power over the previous 2.0-liter Duratec by as much as 20 horsepower while providing more than a 10 percent gain in fuel economy.

Total estimated power is expected to be 155 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque.

The new 2010 Golf represents the sixth generation of one of the world’s most popular vehicles ever. Since its introduction in Europe in 1974, over 26 million units have been sold worldwide. Volkswagen also announced that nearly 400,000 Rabbits, Golfs, and GTIs have been sold in Canada since the introduction of the first generation in 1975.
The Golf is a phenomenon, regardless of its particular generation. Its redesign team was headed by the Volkswagen Group’s chief designer, Walter de Silva, with Klaus Bischoff and Flavio Manzoni, has succeeded in giving the Golf a presence, sharpness, and a power that generates even more fun. Not only fun to look at, but fun to drive.
All key body elements were redesigned, and the sixth generation Golf has a sportier and more distinctive image. In front, the new car adopts the radiator grille of the first generation Golf that is horizontally aligned between the headlights. The lines of the bumper match those of the radiator grille, and beneath this is a section with another air scoop.

This TDI Clean Diesel engine produces 140 HP and 236 lb-ft of torque with a fuel consumption of 4.8 litres per 100 kilometres (L / 100 km) in a 6-speed manual version on the highway, and 6.8 L / 100 km in the city. It is expected, like the Jetta TDI Clean Diesel, that the new Golf TDI Clean Diesel will easily manage over 1,100 km of highway driving with one tank of fuel. Volkswagen is also the first manufacturer to certify B5 Biodiesel fuel for its TDI Clean Diesel engines in Canada, allowing consumers to reduce CO2 emissions by an additional 5 percent.
A new 2010 GTI will accompany the introduction of the new 2010 Golf this fall, and will also be available in either a 3-door or 5-door body styles. Powered by a 2.0 litre turbocharged TSI engine producing 200 HP and 207 lb-ft of torque, the 2010 GTI will continue Volkswagen’s leadership in the “pocket rocket” class popular with Canadian drivers. Both 3-door and 5-door versions of the new 2010 GTI will be available in 3 versions: Trendline, Comfortline, Highline
